Humberside Martime’s  group of Rotary Clubs have an aim to greatly improve hospitals in Sierra Leone. This is a goal we here at the Freetown Society fully support and believe is a fantastic cause.

Connaught Hospital is Sierra Leone’s only public hospital. The aim of this concert is to raise funds to convert an empty section of the hospital into a modern theatre manned by a local properly trained paediatric surgeon.

The major activity is a grand charity concert, OPERATION FREETOWN, to be held on 3rd February 2017 at Hymers College.  This concert will be amazing and will include a harpist, the fantastic City of Hull Youth Percussion Ensemble, a childrens choir, solo artists performances, the Choral ensemble singing Faure and finally a group from Sierra Leone, the amazing Freetown Mix. The evening will be supported by a bar and a brilliant raffle. The hope is that the evening will raise £12,000 which will go a long way to the overall target of £75,000.
