On January 29th 2015, Hull Freedom Festival Trust kindly hosted a Fund Raising Gala in aid of the Freetown Society’s Ebola Crisis Appeal.

It was an amazing evening of songs and music with the venue and catering provided by Hull University.

The evening opened with a performance by Bude Park Primary School with Opera North, next came the Freedom Chorus singers and finally the University Big Band gave a rousing performance to round off the evening.

Kathleen Guthriegave a speech outlining the work of the Freetown Society. She then introduced a film made by Barmmy Boy in Freetown in January which brought home to everyone the real reason for the evening.

Our thanks go to Jenny Coombes and Grace Henderson who worked so hard to make the evening a success raising nearly £2000.
